I'm about to embark on a DIY fabrication of a bed rack for my new Maverick. I'm taking Billiebars as my inspiration but I can see no way to make their brackets work with my Bak Revolver X4S tonneau cover. They say the brackets go between the bed & the tonneau rails but that just seems undoable to me without warping the rails & compromising the cover.
But to attach my fabricated brackets I'll need to drill through the perimeter of the bed and bolt the brackets from the underside (there's a 1" lip on both sides & I believe I have just enough room to bolt each bracket securely).
So my question is, can anyone see any red flags as to why I should not drill through this perimeter? I mean beyond the fact that it's a brand new truck!
I have it all sorted out as to the logistics & materials but it's just the wisdom of doing this drilling that I need some feedback on.
Thanks a lot!!!
