Let me save you the trouble: He manages to get a couple of sparks, but even using some fairly thin metal, it's a bust. Which is not at all surprising, considering welding requires a good bit of amperage, and the Mav's outlet is not intended for that type of usage - it's a fairly low wattage (therefore amperage).Looking forward to watching this later.
I thought maybe he pulled power from elsewhere and did some MacGyver-ing. I tried running my flux core lincoln 180 and my mini amazon field stick on my 2500 watt shop inverter running off 4 golf cart batteries. Didnt do squat. Would be better of hooking jumper cables to the batteries themselves. We are off grid so when I weld I run a big ass 10,000 costco generator. Loud as hell though. Doesnt the F150 go up to like 7500 watts in their pro power setup. I could see retrofitting a setup off a wreck, or just getting a preimier power welder alternator on my older vehicles as an alternative to the ultra loud gennie. Or just continue to annoy my neighborsLet me save you the trouble: He manages to get a couple of sparks, but even using some fairly thin metal, it's a bust. Yeah, the F150 setup is totally different... It's designed to allow you to do some "real work" with it. The Maverick is more for allowing you to run a phone charger, small TV set, or things like that... Definitely not power tools, and certainly not a welder.I thought maybe he pulled power from elsewhere and did some MacGyver-ing.
