My wait is almost over! Hopefully by the time I'm back from vacation next week my beautiful Mav will be on lot waiting for me! Was wondering what is the best option to sell my current car? It's a 2018 Escape currently carmax has qouted me 16,000 for it which is a crazy good deal considering it was just under 19K 3 years ago when purchased. Was wondering where others have sold their cars at. I know private selling will get me the most but honestly just don't have time for that. I'm looking for easiest and best cash offer, carmax seems to be wining at the moment but curious what others have done and if there's better options to sell.

I posted mine for sale on Marketplace about a month after I ordered last October. Priced it crazy high, brought it down a few thousand over the next few weeks. Had someone offer me the current asking price with CASH so I took it. I wasn't in any hurry because I have a back up car but now I've been without a "nice" vehicle for several months and it's getting boring, lol. Don't trade it in for sure, sell outright!!

If I didn't need my car for work and couldn't go more than a day without a vehicle I would love to sell private. Live in Colorado and 4WD SUVs sell very fast and for a lot. Unfortunately just not an option for me which is a damn shame knowing I would have probably made a minimum of a 1000 more if not more private. Happy to hear you were able to get such a good offer and hope your mav comes soon!

Same situation, 17 Escape , have only tried and am going with Carvana. I thought and am hoping for hassle free they buy mine and I put down over half the cost of my Mav. Good luck with yours, mine should happen very soon. 3/31 - 4/6

I want to do carvana so bad it truly seems like the least hassle. Hopefully the qoute will increase it really seems to change almost daily so there's still hope I can use them!
What state are you in wonder if we're on the same rail car my estimated delivery is today to the 5th and in Colorado.

Carvana offered the most on my 2016 Chevy Volt. So I sold it to them 60 days before I got my Maverick Hybrid.

Try carvana/carmax/autonation/vroom/<insert online car buyer of choice>

Once you get an offer from them, take it to the nearest competitor and ask for 1000-2000 dollars more than the previous offer.

Rinse and repeat until you get tired of dealing with these companies or the offer stops going up.

It was my experience that after having a carmax offer in hand I was able to get a local dealership to pay about $1000 more for my vehicle.

Try Driveway.com ....... you ALL may be surprising shocked at what they come back to you with.

I tested it on my 2015 Prius V and Driveway gave me $3k MORE than CarMax which was $300 more than Carvana. Driveway.com responded to email and phone text within 5 minutes of submitting. Not selling, but needed to get an evaluation only at this point and am pleasantly SHOCKED.

I'm in Michigan. My original application I rounded up my miles(which I haven't reached yet) and only live 5miles from the Ford/Roush prototype building I work at. Checked in Jan. @$14,700, Feb $15,200 and now March $15300. Delivery date very soon and am pleased with offer from Carvana.

So maybe finance the new purchase and sell after arrival. The best position to be in is on your terms, not the dealership. Have you financing options before the truck arrives and compare with what the dealership offers. After you sell your car, pay off as much of the truck as you can.

If a dealership offer you X it's because they can sell it for 1.25X. Sell it to them and give up cheddar.

If the cheddar difference isn't enough to make you sell it yourself, do it.

Tons of buyers and few cars. Why give away cheddar?
