Received the LOMAX tri-fold cover yesterday and had a chance to put it on this morning. I saw it here on the forum and ordered it a couple weeks back but shipping to Hawaii... well, there's a reason why the phrase "slow boat" exists lol. Anyhow, I do like the low profile look, and install was a breeze since all of the weather stripping is already attached to the rails and the cover. Took me 20 minutes by myself.

Side view. Man, that's really low profile!

Right back edge. You can see the weather strip attached to the bottom of the bed cover. It doesn't show here, but there's stripping on the inside of the back cover that butts right up to the tailgate. Too bad there's nothing covering the gap there.

Left back for reference. Talk about low profile! It barely peeks over the side rail trim.

Full view of the back. Also note, the stubby antenna replacement. Still looks weird, but a lot less so now.

I think the next project is to get some decals/stickers/stripes going on. Haven't figured out exactly what I want to do though. Anyone have any cool designs that they've done?

Ok, I maybe have just changed my mind on a tonneau cover. How well does it do in the rain, on keeping the bed dry? I don't expect bone dry, but as close as one can get.

So that one only opens 2/3 of the bed? I don't see any photos of it opened further, i.e. blocking the back window.
I already received my Gator FX3 hard trifold, which does, but don't yet have a Maverick to try it out.

And they're all aluminum panels?
Yes they are aluminum panels. I am very impressed with the build quality. I'm a first time tonneau cover buyer and after a lot of help from the Maverick Truck Club and reading and watching other reviews, I bought a Lomax Stance. I liked the simple design with quality parts. It just seems like fewer things can go wrong if you don't have glue that might delaminate, velcro that might lose it's stickiness, canvas or vinyl that might fade or stretch, stitches or seams that might tear.... But I admit, I've never owned a cover of any type before and I don't even have this one installed yet due to a lack of truck! So it's just fingers crossed for me at this point.

I got the diamond mist finish for $980 from Tonneaucovered.com No tax or and free shipping.

How much? And how secure is it?
The stance, (which folds up and covers the back window) cost $980 from tonneaucovered.com on 1/22. It is the more expensive model. Both the stance and the OP's tri-fold are reasonably secure as long as your tailgate is locked. A thief would need to use a prybar of some sort to wedge it up near the tail gate to gain access to the release mechanism.

just installed it so not too sure how it’ll do. I plan on running through the car wash some time next week so I’ll take pics if I remember to. I can tell you that it’ll probably leak through the seams on the sides of the tailgate. There’s nothing sealing those gaps.

Yep, when I first put the cover on, it felt kinda flimsy and I was able to lift it up a quarter inch or so when closed. I started to worry about that then realized I had just put it on to check the fit and hadn’t tightened the bolts down on the clamps. Once I did that, it was firmly on the rails with very little play when you try to lift it.

Yes the OP's Lomax tri-fold does not give access to the entire bed. The first two panels fold back onto the panel closest to the rear window like many other tri-folds. However, you can completely detach and reattach the roughly 60 lb. Lomax cover in seconds.

Note: This is the older version of the cover.

The Lomax Stance does not have quick release hardware and is not meant for easy removal and reinstall. The panel closest to the cab of the truck also pivots so all three panels sandwich together then fold up vertically. Yes, the Stance will completely block the back window. But I figured if I'm hauling something that won't fit under the cover than it's going to be at least partially blocking my view out the rear window anyway. The Stance does require you to 3m tape some doohickeys on the roof of your truck to hold the raised cover in place. Might be a no-go for some. See the video for better understanding:

Here’s what it looks like opened 2/3 of the way. You secure it with two cords like so in the next picture.

View attachment 37040

But that’s not the reason why I bought it. This is the reason why.

When youtie the cords down, you can remove the cover and you have full use of the bed (sans a little on the sides for the rail). That’s what has always stopped me from buying a cover. That last third ends up making that part of the bed kid of unusable. And if I bought the roll up type, the canister takes up even more space. This is what ultimately sold me on the Lomax.
