Not that this meme pertains to safety equipment but hit home for me.Some didn't. I was just discussing this with my son the other day. In my childhood, I knew 4 kids I went to school with die in auto accidents. Elementary through high school. My son who graduated from high school 5 years ago didn't lose any friends, though in many accidents.
Not scientific by any means, of course. But nothing is more true to someone than their own personal experiences.
I used to ride around playing with toys and matchbox cars in the back hatch of our Mercury station wagon. Like it was a big playpen. It was great. I remember a few emergency stops, where I went flying into the upright seat back. It was kinda fun. But it could have been very deadly, in an accident.
We weren't tougher for it, we were ignorant and lucky. I praise God for my luck. And we are probably doing risky things today we don't think anything of now, that future generations will think we were crazy.
My generation grew up looking for frogs and S*it.
Modern generation grew up looking for a WI-FI signal.
We are not the same.
