Here's the Area 51 Maverick XLT at EAA Airventure (and Cactus Gray Lariat)

Wow the lighting really affects the shade of that. When I built my area 51 rig online it seemed as dark as the first photo, but since have seen the truck out in the bright light and its quite the difference. I still like it as long as it doesn't come off as a powder blue. Black wheels will help a lot too. I might paint my steelies blackGot to see maverick in person and looks better than expected!

I like the witty replies but was hoping for a photo or description explaining how the bike is secured in the truck bed. I know about the fork mounting options but my bike has thru-axles so it's more of a process to remove the front wheel. I'd love to keep the bike intact during transport for other reasons too. I'm guessing Ford will sell a rack for the Maverick that does this and maybe they demoed it at this show.

I checked the links before replying to you the first time. Thanks for posting it but it doesn't provide any description or photo of a bike rack except for the fork mount one. The photo of the area 51 Mav at the beginning of this thread shows a mountain bike sitting pretty with both wheels still on. I'd love to know the method.that is why I also linked the business insider link, it shows you how the system actually works with pictures and everything

looks to me like a simple strap around the down tube to the bed corners inside? Look at the downtube where the decal is, then you see a chunky strap. It’s likely not held super securely as it’s for show “bikes go here”

Yeah maybe. The front tire might be tucked into some sort of mount too.
