With the back and forth discussion on here, can someone with an XLT please confirm wether or not the turn signals or the low beams are the DRL? Thanks

The window sticker for my XL lists daytime running lights, I believe XLT is the same. Upper left on the sticker, listed under Exterior.

Interesting
All cars are required to have DRL’s, and in the case of the. L and XLT it is the amber turn signal lights.

If I recall correctly it is like this:

The amber lights are the DRLs for the XL & XLT - this picture is of someone pressing unlock (which turns on DRLs)

@testa422

The DRLs appear to be the low beam LED headlights. The photo attached above is with the parking lights on.

Here is what the DRL looks like on the XL/XLT:

No turn signals or markers are on, indicating headlights are not "on"

From the rear, as it passes by, no tails are on either:

So they work like the DRL's on my 2018 Escape S (base). The higher trims had led DRL's but my base "S" DRL's are the low beam headlights on at a lower brightness with all other marker lights/tailights off. I'm guessing the Mavericks DRL's work the same way. Guessing the low beams come on at a lower intensity in DRL mode.

Question for collective wisdom: is it easy to change those amber bulbs to LED? I know we can do the tail lights and third break light, but I wonder about the front. I’d love to eventually find a cost effective way to add LEDs to the top.

Yes. Just swap for some leds and add resistors

No idea how to do resistors. I assume I can find a YouTube video to explain it.

Diode Dynamics has a bulb for the Ford Ranger that is clear as parking (DRL?) light and actually turns to amber for a turn signal. Maybe it will also fit a Maverick.
