XL Hybrid finally done adding things to it

Just did my tailgate today, pretty easy if you watch a video 1st. The tips about taping outside handle and taping new harness to old for easy pass through were helpful.

Question: is key supposed to still lock and unlock tailgate? Mine doesn't.

Are you sure the key doesn't work? It is a little harder to turn the key than normal because you are turning the power actuator. Is your problem the key turns very easy and does not lock/unlock or won't turn at all?

Today i put the manual back in to see how it worked, then put actuator in to compare.
What i THOUGHT i found was the actuator arm wasn't allowing locking lever to travel far enough to do its job.
Thought i had the wrong actuator so buttoned it up to think about.

Earlier today the thought crossed my mind to turn the manual key a little harder but since it felt so flimsy to start with, and me leaning towards wrong actuator, i didn't until i read your post.

It worked!! Just takes a hair longer to engage.

Live and learn i guess.

Glad to hear it's working for you. As far as "helping an old guy out"... us old guys need to stick together, we're being out numbered by young guys...I'll be 71 in 2 months.

Having the power tailgate lock is so convenient, it's nice knowing that when you lock the doors the tail gate is locked and will help from anyone stealing the tailgate.
