Wiring truck cap lock to the tailgate lock?

I'm looking into getting a truck cap, and one of the features I'm looking for is a electronic lock that hooks into the tailgate lock, so that when I lock/unlock my truck, the truck cap locks/unlocks as well.

I've seen some posts on the F-150 forums that seem pretty involved (at least one poster just gave up and leaves his cap unlocked), and it looks like Leer is the only option that has a glass rear window with electronic locks.

Does anyone have any experience with this?

Bought my custom ordered LEER cap from a local dealer. They did a fantastic job on install. I have had zero issues with the electronics (locks & lights) on cap.

LEER has been my cap of choice over the years, and have always been fantastic.
