I'm no engineer but car manufacturers try to make the vehicles as smooth as possible to reduce wind drag so wouldn't adding anything increase drag and noise?

The Maverick has the aerodynamics of a brick. If they wanted to make it as smooth as possible, it would have probably ended up looking something like the Hyundai Santa Cruz.

At 40+ MPG city driving I could care less about aerodynamics. Besides, a truck looks better boxy shaped. That s
Santa Cru looks a mini El Camino LOL

That's not the point. The doors are flush with the body. The door handles don't extend very far. There are no wings like back in the 50's.... No matter the design, there are many efforts to make it less wind resistant.

Adding anything sticking out affects the aerodynamics and creates extra noise.

Window visors always remind me of windshield visors they used to sell, before A/C was widely available.
Ford Maverick Window Vents reduce wind noise? t6

Everyone's entitled to their opinion, but IMO, window visors just look tacky and detract from the uncluttered lines of the Maverick.
And with the kick-ass Ford electric A/C in the Maverick, I see no need to add visors, especially since I very rarely ever drive with the windows down.

Not necessarily. Adding things like small diffusers can change the aerodynamics to direct the air more smoothly around the body and windows of a vehicle.

i am not a engineer either but certain design principles are pretty set in stone. yes, it is 100% correct that the Mav was almost certainly designed & manufactured to minimize both wind drag within the Corporate design constraints in play for the proposed vehicle i.e. dont forget they were designing a 'small' truck, not some new sleek sports car... and perceived wind noise for occupants. i would think in that order. as wind drag management can have a somewhat dramatic effect on MPG that was probably a priority for the designers IMHO.

as an aside, my 2023 Lariat Hybrid has whats touted as a 'noise reducing windshield' . i have NO idea if that means that a vehicle equipped with this tech is actually quieter or not but it came with the truck, so ok i guess.

a lot of folks (including me) value the ability to crack a window for additional ventilation without getting their interior wet, or to vent the vehicle somewhat when parked in hot weather enough that they are willing to with the additional noise tradeoff.

Are the ford visors channel, or glue type?
The Ford type are held on with 3m tape. I had no problem with the install and they have never had any issues.
