Read a few reports about Mavericks with paint problems. I've seen a few Mavericks with paint problems.

Curious why both of these Mavericks have peeling paint in the EXACT same spot (front bumper, just in front of the wheel well on both driver and passenger side).

Is this bad paint? Bad assembly on the plastics?

Worth noting, one of these Mavericks was repainted under Ford warranty and less than a week later the paint started rippling and peeling AGAIN.

Truth be told, I've only seen two Mavericks up close and both of them have this weird issue. Does anyone else have this problem on their Maverick?

Oh, why do people post this stuff, when it’s already dark for 3/4th of the North American Continent, now I can’t sleep well for another Maverick related reason. Till Morning first light!

I've seen that before on a lot of vehicles, especially after repaints. I think it may be the paint hasn't cured long enough before the plastic flexes/ deforms as it's reassembled.

The paint on mine started peeling around the side markers when I was trying to remove them to put in my Lasfit bulbs so I aborted. Can confirm, paint is not adhered well to bumper. It peels up almost like a vinyl wrap.

OK boys and girls. The plastic is, (probably), TPO. It does not require primer. It does however require an adhesion promoter, .1 mils. I'd venture to say robotics are used at the tier 1 supplier that molds and paints the fascias. Parts could have been put on the supports wrong, the robots program could have messed up causing that area to be missed.
Would be interesting to see if the back of the paint coming off is black or gray. If it is then there is promoter and it's a different issue. If it is not black or gray here is no adpro. The paint will peel.

No idea what the cause might be, but it definitely looks like a defect. They should go directly to the dealer for an under warranty paint repair. The sooner the better for the purpose of paint matching.

That should have been caught at the factory and / or the dealer during final prep.

Looks like a touch up paint fix on mine. Not too the level of those pictures. Wouldn’t have noticed without this thread.

Until your post I had not seen anything on my car. But I have the one paint flaw on one side at the same bumper seam where it meets the front fender. Looks like a flex crack in the paint when they bolt up the fender to the plastic bumper. Bumper paint is different from the paint used on steel--it's a special formulation to provide paint flexibility on the plastic bumper without cracking. It almost looks like from your pic they didn't let the paint dry long enough or they dried it too fast--you can see the stretches (or shrinkage?) in the paint.

I definitely would not repaint it. Just hit it with some hand touch up and clearcoat it.
