Reading some various threads about vehicles, I'm wondering what vehicle fits our needs?

Some people say a high hp engine is a requirement, while others say AWD is mandatory, some demand heated seats and steering wheel while others say those are a waste of money. Some want bare bones, others want luxury. It's almost like Ford should offer different configurations and options to meet each buyers specifics wants and needs.

My head is spinning, please give me some suggestions on what vehicle we should buy.

My requirements:

Sub-30k OTD
Comfortable, but not necessarily luxurious
4 doors
Truck bed for occasional Lowes and Home Depot runs
Need to haul my dogs inside the heat/ac
Outfitted to tow a small, light weight utility trailer if needed.
FWD
High MPG's
Towable behind our motor home
Cruise control
Fit in my garage

I’m going for the below, it’ll work just fine on longer drives if I or the family gets hungry.

XLT hybrid maverick sounds like that vehicle or as close as you could given those parameters. Besides that nothing comes to mind at all to come close

Have you considered one of these? They even have the coveted cargo passthrough and potentially EV tax credit!

That doesn't look safe. EV tax credits are nice, in my state if you drive an EV or Hybrid you pay $100 a year MORE for registration, the state claims you are not using enough fuel, therefore not paying enough gas tax, talk about backward, especially when 50% or the population is driving a truckasaurus for daily use.

Once they make one of those that is street legal with a 45 mph speed, it would fill many peoples needs just fine.

You made your check list. Take it to other car/truck brand dealers. Get the one that checks you list the most. Don't let others tell you what is best for you, really.

Really forward-thinking. No wonder the species is doomed!

My cousin lives in The Villages and uses a golf cart for nearly all his commuting needs.

In 5 years he has put 2000 miles on his car.
