Before I got the Maverick, I drove a 2011 Nissan Versa Hatchback. And actually, every once and a while I still drive it, because we didn't get rid of it when we bought the Mav (we just went from a one vehicle household to a two vehicle household).

We got the Maverick because I haul stuff to conventions all over the state, and I'd spent years cramming it all into hatchback. That, and every time we go up north (which is multiple times a year) I always had to spend an hour playing tetris with our stuff to fit everything in the car... and was getting sick of it.

My wife and I decided to get a pickup, and we started shopping around right before the first Maverick test mules got spotted on the road -- so we decided to wait and see what the costs would be on it before actually buying something.

And man, the Maverick was exactly what I wanted.

Honestly, my ideal two car garage is a compact truck for hauling gear places, and then something small and light to huck around corners at irresponsible speeds. 😆

2016 Ford Cmax Hybrid. Drove for 3 years. Great car. Actually getting more mpg’s from my Mav hybrid (43.5) than my Cmax hybrid (38-39); however, I did not try to maximize mpg’s in my Cmax.

We went from a KIA Niro Hybrid to a Maverick XLT Hybrid. We would be still in the KIA if the Maverick weren't Hybrid. With 22K in the Maverick and 80% being highway miles, I am not complaining with our 38 mpg average. We love it.

The Maverick didn't replace any vehicle I had previously. My wife and I were sharing one vehicle, and she used it to get to and from work. If I needed it, I'd have to drop her off and pick her up at work, and sometimes interfered with appointments I had. So, I bought the Maverick for me. I make raised bed garden planter boxes and deliver them to customers. The Maverick is the perfect vehicle to use.

I am curious about the different makes/model/year/ mileage of the vehicle you had B4 your new Maverick and what option or feature you might miss most and wish the Maverick had. i believe that with the Maverick Ford has a "conquest" vehicle thats pulling customers from other manufacturers and market segments at an incredibly high rate .does the real world data as represented by this community reflect that supposition? for me it was a 2013 loaded Escape Titanium that i purchased new in 2013 with 93k miles when traded it in. the feature i miss the most for some reason is seat/mirror position memory buttons, a Lariet level truck should have this IMHO, folks willing to pay extra for a Lariet Luxe package would certainly not balk at the few extra bucks Ford would have o add for this. we are a 2 vehicle family but Wifey is driving the new Mav way more than she ever drove the Escape and whenever i get in after her its a pain to find my 'favorite' seating position once again, i know in the great scheme of things this may seem trivial but everyone has a right to their own pet peeves, right?

I sold my '16 F-150 FX4 for the identical price I paid for it and bought a Maverick Hybrid XL with the co-pilot 360 option and pocketing $11K in the process. Enjoying the way better gas savings ($5/ gal in CA in a lot of places). Do not miss the utility of the bigger bed of the F-150 because I under-utilized this truck for what it was built for. This was the right decision for me.

If mine ever gets built it will replace my Mazda 5 with currently 266,000+ miles on it. The Mav will be my first non-stick car in 40+ years. I needed something with enough space for my work equipment and something with good gas mileage as I put 25-30k miles on a year. Hopefully, mine doesn't die before Mav gets built or I will be forced to get something else.

2005 Ford Explorer Sport Trac XLT. Had it 15 years, sold it with 165,000 miles on it. Great truck with hardly any issues. Don't really miss anything, maybe the near full size rear window that went down.

Definitely don't miss the 16mpg. Averaging 43mpg after 16,000 miles in my Maverick. Last tank was 52mpg. Love the ACC/Lane Centering, heated seats, CoPilot features, auto headlights, built in SiriusXM.

Edit: I miss not having multiple recalls, Lol.

2014 F150 XL regular cab short box. It was very reliable, but I hated having to pull myself up into it. It had the smallest v6 they made, but it still only got 20 mpg at best on the hwy in summer, but as low as 13 mpg in winter city. IMO AWD is far better than 4X4 for winter driving. That truck also had a basic cab.

I was driving a 2012 ford focus and a 1997 ford ranger. I am still driving the focus (I decided to keep it) and traded my ranger I had for 18 years to my brother for a metal carport he had so I can keep my new maverick under it to keep the tree crud from getting all over it. I don't need 2 trucks and I can always borrow it if I need it for particularly dirty jobs.

1997 Sierra I've owned for 21 years. Keeping it to get mulch, lumber, big dump runs etc. What I save in gas should pay for the basic insurance to keep it.
