Pirelli Scorpion ATR and they are generally considered to be garbage in all respects.
I dunno about garbage in ALL respects. They are quiet, and get good fuel economy!
They are good for the street at least.

I've read at the severe expense of wet and snow performance, just echoing what I've read here. Mostly hasn't been great and I'm baffled by Ford's choice to go with the Pirellis on the FX4 package.

According to Tire Rack, in the 225/65-17 size that came on my '23 FX4, they are by far the least expensive on-road/all-terrain option.

They are not the worst. The continentals are the terrible ones.

Aren't the ones that come on the maverick are A/S, not the A/T versions?

I thought those are what came with mine (not that size). Mine is a '22 FX4 with 4K (before it was the all in one package like it is now). For '24 YM's the FX4 comes standard with 4K, so not sure if they use the A/T's or A/S's.

I do know if you step it up to these wheels and you get the A/T's Wildpeaks that are an OEM nerfed version of the AT3W's:

They're Scorpion ATRs. I got rid of them within about 1500 miles. They're fine for pavement, but terrible for forest roads, especially on mud or snow.

I believe that link is also incorrect. The ones that come on the maverick are A/S, not the A/T versions.

Those are what came with mine. Mine is a '22 with 4K, but I assume it's the same still for tires.

The continentals are a good road tire that provide a balance of low noise and good rolling resistance. My father has almost 10k on his continentals and they are wearing great and he says they are still very quiet and great in the rain. I think their biggest downfall is the weak sidewalls which is just a result of continental keeping them as thin as possible for weight savings but if you are capable of driving without hitting curbs you should be okay. The continentals also aren't pretending to be an AT type tire like the Pirellis, they're just a general use passenger tire.

I purchased some wheels from a member here and put some Falken Wildpeak AT3 tires on them and for an AT tire I was really impressed with them, super quiet and relatively comfortable. Ultimately I went back to my Michelin Defenders since I will never go offroad and they provide the best combination of durability, comfort and ride for me but I had nothing bad to say about the Falkens. I need to post them in the marketplace haha

You realize that the 4K tow package is NOT the same as the FX4 package, right?

ATR's on my '23 FX4.

It is now. It was not previously. That's why I was asking what tires came with them previously and if the link was correct or if it was the A/S I shared. I have a '22 FX4 4K but couldn't remember if it had the A/S or the ones that were shared originally. That's all I'm asking. Edited to clarify what I was asking. Seems like they have changed it every year.

I like them much better than I thought I would. They are highway tires with a little extra to deal with light off road conditions which suits me fine. 10k on the clock and they still look pretty new.
If you want/need good off road tires get dedicated all terrain tires. Then again if you want to do heavy off roading the Mav isn't really the best choice in the first place. 10k on the clock and they still look pretty new.

They are similar to the BFG trail/terrians or the wildpeak at trails. That entire class of tire is a compromise making them a jack of all trades, master of none.

I've had both a '22 XLT and '23 Lariat with FX4 and 4K. In both instances, the stock black rims Ford gave me the Pirelli Scorpion tires generously listed as an ATR. In reality, it is more of an A/S tire. I would have preferred something with a bit more aggressive tread. You can get that by adding the optional 18" wheels that have the milled finish area for another ~$900, getting the Flaken most of the time. As I was going to have other aftermarket items added, I liked the black rims and will switch out the tires for a more off-road tread when these are worn out.
