What speakers will fit to replace the front door speakers?

I found a thread where they replaced the two front door speakers with the PowerBase below. What other speakers will fit in the Maverick's front doors?

Quite a lot, check Crutchfield for a starting list.

The only real appeal to me of a powerbass component set is that the tweeter has a bezel that goes right into the weird factory dash tweeter location.

I am happy with my Focal rse 165 but you can spend less for a decent set and a whole lot more. Middle of the road.

I installed these easy and worth the upgrade be careful not to break the plastic clips holding up they go to the door handles .. I have the part numbers if you break one??!!

You don't want that speaker if you have B&O. You want components.

Agreed. They are not high end speakers but are a big improvement over the crappy paper speakers on the stock, non b&o system.

The ones I have are fine for the stock amp. They can easily handle any amount of power that amp can put out without distortion. The amp itself is another story but then again, it gets loud enough for me.

I have some hearing loss and can't really hear the highs like I could as a teen, but they sound much more crisp and clear at all volumes. Good enough for me.

I put in 6.5 Morell coaxs. They sounded a little better than stock but really great after I added a kicker key 200.4. I'm much happier with the XLT sound now. Components may have been a better choice but I didn't feel like messing with the stock dash tweeters.

and some light sound dampening. Nothing like I had done in my previous Tacoma but I'm hoping it will help a little. Doing the 6x9 to 6.5" changeover today as well thanks to the info from that thread.
