Just wondering what brands still roll off an assembly in the US?

From what I see the build quality is sub par leaving the plant in Mexico. I wonder how much waste happens there vs here.

And or damage during transport.

You can google "Ford model by manufacturing location" and get some info, albeit it might be dated.

As for quality by location, Ford has had some serious issues with its domestically produced Bronco, and there have been some Hermisillo issues with the Bronco Sport. Bottom line, it's a crapshoot.

Thanks for the link

dont know if these are still valid as I hear here the broncos are made down there too
One thing can be apparent by where they make the car/truck.
Notice that all the staple Ford products that have core customers they are made here. And all the new lines are made over the border. As to they are willing to alienate that customer base due to new lines have issues. vs the others F150, Mustang, Exploders…. All are made here.
I guess it makes perfect business sense to make the highest profit model at the cheapest production line as you can.

F150, Explorer and Mustang are higher profit margin. That's why they are made in the US. The Maverick is low profit margin. It makes more sense to make it Mexico. It has nothing to do with new models. The Focus once upon a time was made at the same plant as the Maverick. It's where Ford makes their lower profit margin cars.

Yes, notably flawless product line updates/launches like the Bronco and the newest gen Explorer (or even the previous, fifth-gen which had carbon monoxide entry issues).

Have you actually watched the video of the production line? The is an extremely modern plant and those don't come cheap.

100% perfect quality doesn’t exist these days but the difference today is overall build quality and assembly is way better than the 90s and early 2000s junk I’ve driven in the past at least from my experience. If you drove a 90s t-bird, F150, or Ford Escort and you’ll understand. They ran and drove....and that’s about it lol from my experience.

I’m not concerned as much where the build occurs, it’s more keeping the channels of communication open. The more documentation exists on issues, the easier they are to identify early on which I hope forums like this and other social media outlets will continue to bring them to light. The upside is this being a more basic vehicle, it should likely be easier to fix and maintain I hope.

Also Ford is expecting the Maverick to be a good seller in the South American market. Mexico is an excellent physical location to serve North and South America.
