What in tarnation is the blue painters tape doing on the harnesses under the bed of the truck?

I noticed the same thing when I picked up my truck. You could see painters tape hanging from those wires through the wheel well. Like what you show in pic.

Pointed it out to the salesman, he just reached and pulled off the loose part. Still has some like yours wrapped around the harness.

You didn't know? Fords fix says to use painters tape to fix the harness in the TSB!

relax, it's most likely applied at the supplier to keep bundles of harness from getting tangled and damaged on their journey to assembly. I do the same thing with my Xmas lights.
in the old days it was probably cleaned up when they actually did dealer prep.
