I have a 2023 Lariat and i am looking at coverage now to get a better rate. My current Collision Deductible is 500 Briad form. I am wondering what everybody else is using.

I know these trucks can get totaled easy due to parts.

I always carry the highest available deductible. That is $2500 Collision on my Mavericks with $1000 deductible for Comp. But that's me. I live in a safe place (comp) and low traffic (Coll). You have to consider if you can get by without the truck for a while, and if you can come up with $2500 if needed. I hate insurance companies and give them as little as possible. It is like having "catastrophic health insurance" only. I just want it covered if something very big/bad happens.

Mine is $1000. I know a few guys with body shops and have never actually had to pay a deductible. They just work it into the estimate. Aside from that, $1000 is what I'm comfortable with having to pay. Do what works for you.

Lots of unlicensed/underinsured/fake license plate drivers in my area. Estimates are 30% of area drivers are unlicensed and the local towing/repro yards have a booming business in selling plates with unexpired stickers. $200 comprehensive/$500 collision deductibles.

This is how to live your life. Insurance is a ripoff. Why do you think they advertise so heavily? Same with extended warranties.

Insurance is about risk vs reward.
If I had cash in the bank to cover replacing it myself, why insurance? So what are the odds I'll use insurance vs how much do I need to pay?

Our deductible is higher in return for smaller payments. I can afford to cover a larger deductible but the likelihood of paying less year after year for insurance is guaranteed. :)

$1000 deductible on the Collision & $50 on the Comp. We have a lot of big trucks around here that throw stones into windshields so it makes sense. Bye the way, if your vehicle gets the catalytic convertor stolen, it's covered on your Comp. I know as my motorhome parked in a "secure" storage lot was hit last year. The replacement costs were $4500. My cost was $50.
