What a Hybrid Maverick sounds like…. a good listen on what to expect while you wait

My 23 XLT Echo boost 2.0 sounds like a diesel on cold starts .

The standard idle speed for this engine is 1250 RPM, which is significantly higher than most cars. It will actually idle up to 1500 RPM in extreme cold (below 20* or so).

It took a bit of getting used to for me, but I find that the high idle speed lessens/eliminates some of the 4 cylinder vibrations that I have experienced in other small Fords.

Just under 3000 miles and 34 MPG overall. Couldn't be happier with it!

I picked up my XLT hybrid Mav Monday 3/6 also
Sure does sound weird on electric and the reverse beeping makes me laugh. Like how it drives.

It bothers me when the wife pulls up to the gate to let me out with the hybrid in electric mode, I get out and while I am walking to the padlock, the wife turns the knob from drive to reverse and while it's in neutral on the way to reverse the fake ice noise stops then when she puts it back into drive it stops again while the knob is traversing neutral. I think it bothers me after reading here where many claim their truck is "deep sleeping".

My son has a Mach E GT. It has the same reverse "dinger". When you get underway in it, it sounds like the sound track from a '50's science fiction movie. Weird noises!

Thats what mine sounds like after a remote start every morning, currently at 2250 miles.

I don’t mind the loud idle. It’s either warming up efficiently or charging the battery. Either way it’s fine.

That's because they are making it make noise in electric to warn people you're coming.
