...found these and went the lazy route. Two pioneer shallow 10s from my previous daily to plug the holes.

Can you share a link? I'm in a similar boat, I want to build an enclosure but something ready to drop in does have some appeal as well.

They make an 8" too. Being made of wood, they aren't able to use the full volume of the storage space like a fiberglass enclosure would, but these work for the subs I'm running. Just keep enclosure volume/sub combo in mind. I'm gonna stuff with a little poly fill too to help with that. https://www.ground-shaker.com/index...x-fits-22-23-ford-maverick&Itemid=104&lang=en

I don't think it's lazy, it's trading cash and convenience for a lot of your own time. You still need to install 1 or more amps, wire everything, etc. I saw the dual boxes are $295, which seems like a very good value when the single is $215. I assume the dual box is actually the same as two singles, and if so, you might as well get 2 and sell the one you don't use if you're happy with a single 8 or 10.

I built my own enclosure a year ago but these didn't exist at that time, otherwise I would have been tempted to use one also. As it is, I'm tempted to upgrade from a 8" to a 10" and use one of the Sound Decisions enclosures.

That's right...the dual box is just two singles. They're small, but the pioneer shallows I've been running for years work well in small enclosures. I'm actually surprised there aren't more options for enclosures now given the popularity of these trucks...will probably be a flood of choices soon.

.45 cuft isn't bad, that's the same size as my handbuilt box, mine is just slightly different dimensions.

there are some high performance 8s that are happy with that air volume, I use an Alpine R2-W8D2 and a Kicker Key 500.1 amp. but since you already had the two pioneer subs, I totally get why you would start with those. what amp are you going to use?

I run a Rockford bd1000 I bought when I was 15 (23 years ago)...still works like a champ. The pioneer shallows like a small enclosure...they've been running in about the same volume with some poly fill and sound great for what they are.

Looks like you're doing a good job but I have a question not related to speakers but the space you're putting them in. It looks like that's probably under the back seat? Is that a hybrid back seat compartment?

This is the ecoboost... I believe the hybrid would only allow for one enclosure, but I've never seen one to be sure

How does it sound? Any clips
I haven't transferred my subs over yet, but I'll update when I do. The 10s I'm using have been in my Acura RSX for probably 10 years in a similar volume enclosure...hopefully they sound just as good in the Mav
