I worked on the worlds most sofisticated machinery, i repaired the machines that make the chips that are in your vehicles and everywhere else in every appliance, phone, tv, everywhere baby.

I worked with lasers, xray, SEMS. these vehicles technology is KIDS TOYS compared to what i have done in my life. I worked at a PCB assembly factory, as a board technician using logic analyzing equipment, i carried a friggin O scope in my back pocket.

You want to talk filtration, i repaired machinery in an atmosphere that was 100000 times cleaner then a hospital operating room. I repair equipment that you cant even see, i repair equipment that has more physics and chemistry that would lose most highly educated techies. Heres some of my work shirts, oh yeah, i owned a very successful diesel repair/modification business for 10yrs.

I bet i have been to more SEMA shows then years you are old.
I have 30 yrs, in semiconductors and PCB assembly shop alone.

The 3rd pic is of the toyko electron machines i worked on, with this is a robotics arm. I worked on ASML(even attended their training center in Tempe Az.), The WORLDS MOST SOFISTICATED MACHINE IN THE WORLD. Price each..coming up on 100 million a piece. Fab cost 10 billion!

See thats the problem here, cause he has a utube channel hes a metallurgical knowledgeable person? I have 50yrs of knowledge on that subject and he missed it. Basic 101 metallurgy states, no direct connection between copper and aluminum, it is down right DANGEROUS.

Which comes to my second point, theres no consistant repair being done at dealership to dealership.

People/members need to understand this is a big deal. And what kind of hodge podge repairs they are getting.

So simple. Crimp a damn lug on from the factory Ford. There is absolutely no logical reason to do what you did. It was a very ignorant decision.

Side note. I planned on doing this exact fix as soon as my hybrid arrives. Already have a crimper but I’ll need some aluminum lugs.

One of the most honest and knowledgeable techs I have seen on YouTube

I found it interesting he used cloth tape. I used to wire large industrial machinery and when tape was used we used rubber tape followed by cloth tape for abrasion resistance. While not the best putting copper on aluminum as long as it's temporary should be fine. Even in the 70s we always used copper wiring. Only exception was aluminum in large mcm sizes that fed the machine while we were building it. And we used some grey compound on the wires that were connected to the main circuit breaker of the machine. Was told the main issue with the aluminum wiring was dis similar rates of expansion causing the connection to loosen which could arc and cause a fire.
