We've got our Maverick back on the dyno today. Trying a colder set of plugs in it to see what else can be squeezed out of it. The truck runs great. The Toyo 31" tires required a recalibration for the tire size and the added weight of the tires lost about 30 whp, that's typical......and it sucks.

The truck in this video has our catch can, 3" intake, 3" catback, set of colder plugs and is being tuned with HP Tuners.

Is the operator purposefully "throttling" and at the start to 1800 rpm or so?

I'm the operator, I don't know what you are asking. The runs are done from a dead stop, 1-2-3-4th gear.

I do like the sound! Did you try the method I mentioned about putting it in Low and letting it climb though the gears until you get to 4th, and then backing it down to 2-2500rpm and see if it would stay in the gear?

I would love to see a power v rpm graph!

It will down shift, just disrupts the dyno and graph.

Just attached a dyno sheet from just 4th gear. Just a random sheet from locking it into 4th, not the highest numbers but a good graph to show RPM.

What is the percentage on the drivetrain loss?

Wow, -30 WHP? I didn't realize tires would make that much of a difference. Thanks for posting, these are very interesting.
It's not shocking at all. Any additional weight on driveline components kills power. We've done back to back testing on all this stuff for so many years when we are trying to set some other record etc.

Brake rotors, tires, wheels, even upgraded axles or a heavy triple disc clutch all rob power to the wheels.

No idea. Every car is different, there are so many variables that change that, just like losing 30 whp from adding the 31" tires.

We've got the truck locked into 4th gear now! You'll now see dyno graphs in RPM.
How did you get it locked?
