Still waiting on 5Star for my 93 and E30 revisions for tunes.... hopefully they get to it soon.

I'm on my second tank of 93, and the basectune is running great! Managed a 13.04@105mph full weight and full factory exhaust. I may try some open downpipe runs on 93 and see where that goes. With the larger turbo, the stock exhaust is choking the setup more, so I expect to see a couple tenths better, roughly 20whp is my guess. More updates to come!

Hit the nail on the head. Open downpipe netted a 12.85@106mph. That should equate to right around 20whp from full factory exhaust to open downpipe!

I guess I should also mention DA. It's between 5 and 10 degrees out, so DA is pretty awesome! However, I have noticed that my best times seem to come when the temps are between 30-40 degrees out. Not sure why that is, but it is what it is.

So again, this is my base 93 tune, open downpipe, intake and intercooler, and corsair turbo. I think I should end up right where I was thinking with where this turbo will take me. I may do some reduced weight runs later and see where that goes! Thanks for looking!

Congratulations John. You’re going to put a pretty big gap between second place when you get it dialed in.

Well, ET went down just as expected. Dropped my normal 180-190ish weight, and ran 12.66@107mph. Trans feels perfectly fine! I cannot wait for my revisions!

This was holding 18-19psi through the entire rev range! Can't wait for 22+psi!

The actually components in a transmission are much stronger than the assemblies rating. This piece is rated for this many blah blah blahs, on into thousands. The enemy of any auto trans is heat. If you can find a way to keep it cool the only way you can break it is by driving it like a maniac.

Do these dash computer readouts have a trans temp guage that can remain on all the time? If so you can just watch and play with driving technique and changing cooler capacities, and directing air places, even adding fans to the coolers. If you are going for power and speed and dont care about the warranty, you can just freely do whatever you like to make it how you like.

That’s awesome man. To top it off you have that cheat code DA too. I’m jealous of that air. I’ve never had negative DA lol

Does the Corsair have the same tranny as the Mac?

It has been listed on the build site as an 8f40. I don't know what the difference is between them. I've been trying to find good info on these trans and there just isn't much info online.

There were 3 levels, the base level was for the 1.5T, then the 2.0T with 8F35, then the 2.7TT with 8f57. I can't remember the designation for the weakest one. They must have created more variants since they say the Corsair 2.3T has an 8F40. I haven't seen any other documentation about these trans besides a few articles like the ones you talk about. I'm sure with some research, we could adapt the 8F57 to work with our 2.0T, but it would probably require a lot of mix and matching for axles and even axle components. I don't have time for that yet, haha.

Small update! E30 running 18-19psi is running 12.85@107mph in full weight, full factory exhaust mode! There may be some updates later tonight in my "race trim"

I'm curious to know what the transmission can handle, being that it is a fairly new design.
I was looking for someone to ask this....I've been told the tyranny can't handle more than 277tq....are you upgrading the tranny or waiting for it to blow and then upgrading.

I'm probably close to 150lbft of torque more than the factory, and it's holding up great. I don't plan to upgrade at all. If it fails, I will possibly look into better clutches, but currently noone makes anything aftermarket for the trans.

The mavs are twin scroll correct, i thought being so they would support more than 270

The scroll design doesn't have any bearing on the power a turbo can make, the twin scroll just helps the spool time by using individual exhaust strokes to help pulse the turbo evenly. I the factory turbo has been dynoed by others to make slightly over 300whp in factory trim.
