With the exception of a few people, we all know that for the most part, the Maverick is a beautiful truck. I was just thinking back over the many years and was trying to figure out the ugliest vehicle I have ever owned. Why don’t you join me in listing the ugliest vehicle you have ever owned, or one that a family member or friend has owned? What made it ugly?

Mine - 1951 Henry J. God-awful tail fins and squat Ty sloped look.

Dad had one. I have fond memories of it. Me and my brothers went everywhere with dad in it, I was his work car, he got a milage allowance. In our opinion beat the 58 yeoman all over the place. It developed a short in the starter, if dad left it parked in gear like one night , it went about a block down the street.

Yes, Oldsmobile sucking a lemon. I understand they were pretty nice upper leval cars,

AMC Pacer - my cousin got stuck with it when he married. It didn't stay in the family very long.

Yes a big mistake, but not as big as the Pacer Wagon.

I had never owned an American made economy car. Thought I would give the US built Chrysler product a try. I bought a 1995 Dodge Neon Sport (top of the line). Absolute piece of dung. 15 months later, traded it for a 1996 Honda Civic LX (drove that car for 7 years and gifted it to someone in need later)..

Yes it was nice inside, but you had to get past the front end, it was really ugly so it made it very hard. I think they stopped making Edsels do to the fact they couldn’t fix that level of ugly.

My 2003 Aztek shows up in every top ten list. I loved it. Had 188K on it when it was sold. Only repair was the ac compressor. I even used the tent.

86 Tempo Sport, Traded in on a Mustang 5.0 in 87. One year was all I could take.

My brother still has his red on white 87 GT Vert! A lateral trade from the Tempo could have been a Murkur, gotta say I was always fascinated by them. Imagine one now with a Ranger 2.3 swap!!!


My only ugly I got is my current Jeep Comanche Eliminator. Here is a pic of what its supposed to look like and what mine looks like.

Universal fiberglass cowl
Air intake delete, replaced by a triangle Edelbrock Pro-Flo foam air filter wedged under cowl.
3" front spacer lift
WJ LCAs
Re drilled track bar mount locator
Clamp on add-a leafs
F150 spring over, overload shocks
Shackle lift
Cut and hammered front fenders with raised and sheetmetal screwed flares
Custom welded front and rear bumper with F/R hitches
Harbor Freight 12k winch
Pintle hitch
Exhaust cut through bed side w/Magnaflow muffler
80s Toyota sunroof
Trac-racs found in a cane field
Plywood on racks
Plywood and ball bungee tailgate
Color are primer grey, rust, exposed bondo, and metallic ish blue.

That Jeep pickup is one of those lost legends of automobile history. Always wanted one. Apparently, Jeep realized what they had and came out with the Gladiator, in my opinion a poor upgrade from the single cab you have. I say a little paint and some elbow grease and you can raise that Jeep from the grave.
