Totaled Maverick crash but safety measures let owner walk away with only soreness

Backstory: The owner / driver hit a Dodge 2500 and it totaled both vehicles.

The owner said "I luckily came out with only a little soreness, but the airbags did there job and I was protected."

Not even a broken window! Looks like the crumple zones were effective in keeping the passenger compartment intact.

While I hate seeing smashed trucks, it's reassuring that they are keeping occupants safe.

Agreed! While I am sure there would be permanent structural issues, I'm surprised how well it held. No shattered windows, doors look to still be aligned properly, the frame itself looks barely harmed. I'll bet the RAM doesn't look as good.

Insane that it took the hit from a 2500 and that is all the damage. I mean I know it's a F250 (similar size) but man when you imagine the impact basically head on, and the Mav surviving, that's awesome.

Being much lighter weight allows it to be pushed instead of absorbing all the energy of the impact.

Is it just me or do there seem to be a lot of "totalled Maverick" threads? I guess it's good no one has been seriously injured in one of these threads. At least I know that someday in the distant future my hybrid will be pretty safe.
