Tire rotation pattern

What vehicle requires 4 unique tires?

A Corvette and many other musclecars/sportscars comes with different spec front and rear tires. And then if those tires are directional, they can't even be rotated left to right without dismounting and remounting all four tires.

You caught me in a slight exaggeration , but in reality, you still don't rotate them.

I'd agree that you should still rotate, a typical front or rear wheel drive car will show more wear on the drive tires, even my 2011 Camry did.

Even if different sizes? You cannot rotate staggered fitment tires. You can move them left to right, and on sports cars that will help even out inside wear. But that is still not as effective as cars that can be rotated front to rear.

To be honest our vehicles are not perfect...
If you think on the forces being put on a tire, every position (right front, left rear, etc...) is different. Yes it may be minute, but it is there..

On Scotty boy, he can't makeup his mind. First he is glorifing something and next week, he's roasting it...

I didn't suggest doing a 4-tire rotation with different size tires. What I said was that even if the tires were different sizes front to back they should be rotated (as the previous poster stated that they should not).

"Hopefully' everyone here is bright enough to understand that you wouldn't do a full 4-tire rotation with different size tires, but in that case they would be swapped side to side, but in the Maverick Forum you never know..

No,check out Scotty kilmers podcasts.rotating was necessary for bia ply tires.not so much modern radials. Like I said I haven't rotated a tire in prolly 30 years and haven't noticed a need to.

Without saying what I think about Mr. Kilmer and the ideas he puts out there I can say that rotating tires is a must if you want to replace all four at the same time, with the same amount of wear.

This is especially true with a front-wheel drive based vehicle that always wears down the front tires faster than the rears because they handle steering, braking and power traction. The rears are just rolling along.

I rotated my original Continentals on the Maverick at about 15k miles when I saw a significant deal more wear on the fronts. By the time I replaced them all at 30k miles, they were all evenly spent.

Keep in mind when you rotate your tires ,you need to reprogram your tire pressure sensors. I just had the new wheels and tires done today . Tire guy just goes from tire to tire with a box thing and the horn blows .

The manual is correct for all stock tires that the maverick has come with so far. Deviate from stock design, expect to need to deviate from the manual as well.

Also, vehicles that cannot have their tires rotated aren't super high end. the Grand Prix GXP had wider wheels up front. If you were to put Cross Climate 2s on that, you wouldn't be able to rotate them at all.

Swap diagonally unless they are directional then just front to back on the same side. If your rears are bigger than the fronts, they don't get rotated.
