**final sound clip now works**
I purchased an the Thermal R&D "Ford Maverick EcoBoost - Catback Exhaust SKU:B914-C916-C" black coated Dual tip exhaust, so I took some pictures to make a simple write up of the install.
I installed the exhaust with my maverick on jack stands in my drive way I just lifted the drivers side tires up, in hindsight it probably would have been easier to lift the passengers side up instead or flat on 4 on jack-stands, took about 2 hours to install.
Step one:
supported the exhaust with 2 or 3 jack stands
Step two:
marked the exhaust 2 1/2" from the weld on the "out" side of the catalytic converter this was cut where I cut the exhaust
Step three:
removed the exhaust from the three exhaust hangers, I used Dawn and water in a spray bottle and an exhaust hanger removal tool from O'reillys https://www.oreillyauto.com/detail/c/lisle/lisle-pliers/lis0/38350, I have just used a couple screwdrivers in the past to do this but the tool made it way easier.
Step four:
I used an "Evertough Tailpipe cutter" I rented from O'reillys auto parts to cut the pipe, i could of used a hack saw or saws-all but I figured this would be cleaner, took 40 swings back and forth to cut though, the wheels didn't all line up so it left a barb that I had to file off.
Step 5:
removed exhaust.
Step six:
Marked the adapter and muffler 1 1/2" this is where the edge of the clamps were lined up when installed.
Step seven:
installed the adapter pipe small side with the single bolt clamp onto the catalytic converter and a 2 bolt clamp loosely on the larger end of the adapter pipe (pic shows the mid pipe installed)
Step eight:
hung the exhaust from the hangers and supported with jackstands
Step nine:
placed both 2 bolt clamp on both sides of the exhaust loosely
Step ten:
placed the mid-pipe, there are 2 bends on the tube, the longer section from the bend is placed in front towards the engine tightened the 2 bolt clamps enough to hold it but allowed the pipe to turn, adjusted the pipe to be a fingers width away from the drive shaft and tightened the clamps
Step eleven:
hung the black exhaust tip pipe from the exhaust hanger and tightened the 2 bolt clamp allowing it to be adjusted for height of the tips and then tightened the clamps to finish the install
(pic won't upload I will try again later or take a new picture)
sadness:
at the point of installing the exhaust tip pipe, I noticed the that pipe was damaged in shipping, I tried to bend it back but the pipe is thick so it didn't work (the pictures are before trying to fix it), I emailed the Thermal R&D team to see if anything can be done, I still installed the pipe to get the sound clip and at this point it was no going back **Update: the company Emailed me back and are going to send me a replacement part.
