Picked up my XLT hybrid Monday. Worked with Cavender Grande Ford in San Antonio. I had called them back in March or April asking about a Maverick. They took a deposit for one of the stock units they ordered because they were the only ones in town that maintained they would not charge any markups over MSRP . Sure, they may not have known at the time that those stock units would never get built, but he did say he would keep me in mind if anyone dropped their order.

Lo and behold one day I got a call that someone requested their deposit back and the build happened to be exactly the one I was looking for, just a different color. He sent me a price sheet to sign right away and applied the deposit I already had down towards it and told me it was mine.

Zero issues the day it arrived, and they even waited until I was able to make it there to complete the purchase (about 3 days later). No surprises at signing and I drove off happy as could be!

Definitely not the case most places as I've seen. But if you are in Central Texas, definitely check with Cavender Grande Ford. They are by no means a big dealer, and I think their main business is fleet work, but my sales person, Lance, did a great job and I'm so happy I didn't get impatient and find one elsewhere for a slight markup.
