**For just random pics of the Maverick, follow me at thetrucklet on IG.**
After what felt like an excruciating wait, my Maverick shipped a couple days after Thanksgiving and showed an ETA of 12/30. So imagine my surprise when I went through my nightly routine of obsessively checking and on 12/16/21 found out it had been delivered! The next day I called my dealership only to find out they had received a huge shipment of vehicles that night and they were going through the process of processing them, calling customers, cleaning them up etc.
After a day of back and forth I began to realize I wasn't going to be able to work out any sort of convenient time to get it that day, so like a responsible grown up I threw in the towel and agreed to meet first thing in the morning yesterday, 12/18. I have had a lot of vehicles, and a lot of new vehicles at that, but this was the first time I'd ever ordered something and had to have months long patience to actually get my hands on it. I think in the end it made the moment all the more special, because the anticipation and excitement made me feel like a little kid again. Pulling up and seeing it out front waiting on me was fantastic, and my wife even reluctantly admitted she was in love with it after listening to me ramble and watch YouTube videos for months.
Originally I ordered a Hybrid, but as a longtime enthusiast I was already on the fence and wanting an Ecoboost. After Mr.Boom rolled out his YouTube videos with his initial impressions I made the leap. So it's an XLT, Ecoboost, AWD, 4k tow package, co-pilot 360, block heater, 400w inverter and sliding rear window.
I ordered through Byerly Ford in Louisville, KY, which has always been an excellent buying experience for me. This time was no different, everything was smooth and none of the dealer tricks or horror stories I'd been reading about. Ran my employee A plan, signed the dotted line and was on my way! No crazy fees or anything abnormal, I'm thankful I have such a good relationship with these guys after hearing what others are experiencing.
The truck stayed stock for all of an hour. By the time I had it home, with 29 miles on it, I went over it with a fine tooth comb and used Mothers CMX Surface Prep and Spray Ceramic. Then I swapped on my bronze KMC alpine wheels on Falken Wildpeak AT Trail tires (in the factory 225/65/17). This morning with 44 miles on it, it got dropped off with my tint guy. Now I'm currently window shopping a few other goodies! I plan to use this thread as a way to keep tabs and share photos on my adventures and mods.
I am in LOVE with the color, I know everyone mentions how different it looks in different lighting, but it really does constantly change to shades of grey, green and blue.
Then some with the wheels;
and the most recent pics from today after I picked it up from tint;
