Tailgate mat

I assume ford doesnt make a tailgate mat so has anybody made one of their own?i need a rubber style that matches there bed mat.home made ideas are fine all so.

Ford offers a plastic cover for the tailgate which is very similar to the drop-in bed liner protection for the tailgate. Tail gate cover NZ6Z9900038C for $62 plus shipping.

I once made one out of a used conveyor belt, very tough but difficult to cut. It lasted forever. Get a rubber sheet from a place like McMaster-Carr.

I did the same years ago and yes it was a tough cut but 32 years later its still going strong.

When i got my Maverick, I ordered the bed mat from begrug.com. It covers the bed and tailgate. It looks great and easy to clean. I would recommend it.
