Tailgate hole cover

Didn’t know this existed until a few days ago. Amazon has a tailgate hole cover for the maverick. I’ve had rocks, mulch, etc get in through the large hole in the tailgate door. Found this on Amazon for $10.

If you don’t have a 3D printer, check with your local library. A lot of people got these printed for a couple bucks. If you do, PETG seems to be the best option.

Since the removal of my engine and transmission for the dampener issue it’s been good. Only concern is the shutter and surge while the engine is cold. I’m sure something is not right but dealership said it’s fine so I just ignore it. I have a few pending recalls to do as well. Currently at 46k after 2.5 years. Don’t plan to keep it past the 100k warranty.

Sometimes it is neither the printer or the materials. It takes a lot to fine tune a 3D printer. I have a newer one I can’t get to print as nice as my old one. And if the operators aren’t don’t really care to get it to work right, that may be the problem too.

Only $10? You scored! Mine cost $11.99 on Amazon in March 20224.
Still worth covering the hole since I had hauled straw wattles and the straw was inside my tailgate.

BTW, there is a Redneck version for almost free: Take some clear packing tape, cut it to size and put it over the two openings

Thx for sharing.i put a piece of duct tape over the hole when hauling gravel then removed it when done. Curious why Ford would leave this hole in uncovered!
