So I’ve made a few posts about my XLT in Cactus Gray. Let me start by saying I love this truck, and I’m happy with my dealer. They gave me the Z plan, and more for my trade in than I even paid for it last year! They are also helping me get all of these issues fixed!

1) they found a crack in one of my wheels and said they are replacing all 4(I still don’t see the crack)

2) my interior weatherstripping on the driver side door is not flush with the door, and the truck whistles past 50 mph

3) there is a very small paint chip/bubble on the rear passenger side

4) on the rear window where the bedliner meets, someone did a really sloppy job. Honestly don’t know what’s going on with that.

Side note,

I used my Ford points and ordered the tailgate damper, black Maverick lettering, and FITS package through FairwayFordParts. They were 20% cheaper than directly through the Ford app, and free shipping. Plus they accept Ford points.

I also ordered a Gator tonneau through realtruck.com. I have the guys email. He gives 20% off the website price and free shipping if you contact him directly.

Sounds like you got a good dealer who is going to get you set right. Yeah that #4 is super weird, what does the other side look like?

Yikes! I’m sorry dude! I hope they get this all sorted out for you and I hope this isn’t common. A crack in the wheel is insane. I can’t really understand how that would happen without major damage. Is it possible that the dealership is hoping to get 4 free XLT rims out of this because they seem to be the one most people like? (Sorry I’m so cynical)

I wonder why they did not take the bed liner all the way to the rear window, rather than leaving that bar of painted area. I feel like that would have looked better anyways. When I have line-X spray mine in I am going to have them cover that part.

Sucks that you've had some issues, but certainly great to hear that your dealer is taking care of you!

I am pleasantly surprised there's not an angry, irrational mob shouting you down about "this is what you signed up for" or "maverick is the best truck in the world! It does not have issues, YOU have issues!"

Good luck getting these sorted out. I'm impressed that you're getting 4 replacement wheels rather than just the one. I'm sorry that you've had to deal with these defects (let's call a spade a spade), but I'm glad you appear to be getting top notch service.

I posted this on the subreddit as well, and all kinds of trolls saying this kind of nonsense. I paid 30k for a brand new car. I expect near if not perfection.
But yes, very irritating, but I’m trying to stay positive.

Yea definitely understandable, just because a vehicle is cheap (yea sadly 30k is cheap) does not mean it should not be good quality. While it is to be expected on some level, being a brand new vehicle line... Ford should still make sure you are taken care of, and it sounds like your dealer is doing that.

Thanks for letting us know the issues you are running into. I like to know what issues other folks are having, so I can keep an eye out for them on the vehicle I get.

Thank you for sharing all the info about your truck. I will definitely check out those areas on mine.

Also glad to hear thd dealership is working to resolve this.

Finally, I emailed Alex my wish list yesterday, and hoping to save some cash on tires and hard roll up cover.

I’m curious how the dealer found a crack in the rim. You didn’t see it so you didn’t bring it to their attention. Did they find it in pdi?

I work in an auto body shop and it's not uncommon to have to fix cars that just came to the lot. Usually it's from transportation, things like dings and paint chips. This seems like a factory issue, but regardless I'm glad they're being quick to fix the issues.
I agree with being "picky" about a new car, it should come out brand new and perfect!

Honestly I still don’t know. I’m going to ask them when I go back.

Hey I just stopped by my ford dealership to look at the area51 xlt that they have in stock and was surprised to see the same missing paint on the same weld spot. It’s not as obvious as yours but still.
