Just my advice, when thinking about selling your old steelies and tires, think about if your truck gets totaled, easy to happen now a days. I have scene on MTC posts of small back end crashes that have totaled the truck. I had a neighbor who was in a crash ,small one , and they totaled his car. He had just bought $ 3000.00 in wheels and tires, all in good shape after crash. I had to help him get 4 rims and 4 may pops in a couple of hours, at junkyards, to change out before they were going to crush his car, and you have to change them out on there lot with your tools. Lot of work,or just keep your steelies so you can keep your tire and wheel investment for another day.

Good idea if you have the space. They are pretty common on Marketplace though. I bet you could score a cheap set in a pinch.

Steelies and no don’t wrapped wheel is the reason I’d never consider an XL

Good advice if you have the room. Also good for mounting snow tires etc.

I am with the others, I skipped the step of replacement all together and just kept my steelies and my $$$.

I do want to paint them black. I'll get around to that when I get around to washing it. It's been 14 months or so, maybe in another 10 months and it will be washed and wheels painted.

Edit: Yeah some of you enthusiasts here may call vehicle protective services on me 🤣. But I'm of the ilk that this just another tool in my toolbox not any extension of me. If the maintenance isn't in line with it doing the job better or longer service life then I'd rather be doing something else.

the steering wheel is one item that I wished was a little nicer on my XL. I also wouldn't mind if it was heated but I'll be fine!
It is easy to swap out a vinyl wrapped one but then you're adding cost to the XL which smacks against the value prop.

I am a HUGE proponent of ALL vehicles have a soft vinyl/leather wrapped steering wheel, 8-10 way power adjustable drivers seat, and a tilt/telescoping steering wheel for the simple fact that if a driver can't get comfortable and feel good in your vehicle they won't buy it.

But yeah, the heated wheel is something I didn't know I was missing until I had it.

Normally, I don't like steering wheel covers - they usually don't fit right, or look cheesy somehow, but I took a chance on one of these -

it was only $21 with the coupon, and it looks and fits excellent; actually looks as close to factory as possible and it's not skinny or cheap feeling. The only thing is, it's kind of a pain-in-the-@$$ to get on (very tight) but once it's on, it won't slip around. If you can get it really hot and pliable beforehand, it will slip on much easier (let it sit in the sun for an hour). I found it well worth the price.
