We caught three new undisguised prototypes for the 2025 Ford Maverick, revealing some interesting firsts in colors, grilles, and accents.
Maverick XL in Eruption Green on Steelies
We got a fresh look at the 2025 Ford Maverick, totally undisguised in its base XL trim. The prototype is painted Eruption Green, a totally new color for the Maverick lineup, likely pointing to a reshuffling of the color palette for the 2025 model year trucklets.
The base Maverick is wearing its humble steel wheels, and it’s plainly badged as an XL trim, thanks to its undisguised fender vent. We see an alternate headlight design very well. While it keeps the new F-150-inspired headlight shape, it’s internals are completely different, lacking the LED signature and showing more traditional halogen lighting. The grille seems to be design match for what we’ve seen on other Maverick trims, including Lariat-badged prototypes, although the finish might a bit less upscale. We’ll have to wait for more prototypes to surface to make any final judgements on this XL grille.
Maverick XLT Shows All-New Grille Design
We caught another undisguised 2025 Ford Maverick prototype, this time catching it in its XLT trim, revealing a completely new, never-before-seen grille treatment.
This Maverick XLT—according to its undisguised fender vent—has an all-new grille treatment, with a sporty diagonal basket-weave design. Like the XL prototype spotted earlier, this XLT is also fitted with halogen lights without the LED signature. It is wearing the sporty 19-inch wheels, painted black, wrapped in the now familiar 225/55R19 Goodyear Territory HT tires.
Maverick Lariat in Black, with New Polished Accents
This black Maverick Lariat looks properly high-end, sleekly finished in its glossy all-black paint, LED headlights, and new wheels. This Lariat appears to be wearing one of the new 19-inch wheel designs, but with nicely polished accents installed of the all-black units we’ve seen previously. A new bit of polish is also seen on this Lariat’s front bumper, with new bright finishes on its chin. The bright accents are new to the Maverick, based on the current lineup, and what we’ve seen on previous prototypes.
