I've never used boom matt before I put a set in my son's SUV about 2 months ago. Huge performance hit. I'm going to remove them and leave a negative review for the product to warn others. It's not a small difference, it's a huge reduction in output!

Right now I only have the baffle on the passenger side so I can switch output between sides to hear the difference. Definitely a big reduction in sound quality. It Sounds like the stock speaker. Cutting a hole in the bottom helped but still not as good as without.

Heck yeah man, that's exactly what I have in mine. I'm actually about to redo mine and do luxury liner pro and then mega zorbe on top of it ( I messed up and didn't do 100% coverage on the door skin for CLD and I'm getting flex)

I can't blame you for that, it's worth a try to atleast protect it, definitely give that nvx silicone baffles a try then, they are open baffle, but I don't think we will have the room for them.

Nope it's not glued, two of the yellow stickers need to come off and then I believe either 10mm or 12mm socket to get the window off the regulator track, have your window cracked open a few inches, give lazymex2022 a watch on YouTube, he put some focal k2 in his and did resonix CLD and did a bada** job and shows how to get the black piece off very well

Here is a picture of the mega zorbe on mine, do solid layers and not random squares like a did lol

Just watched his vid. Doesn’t look too hard, I’ll probably try that. There isn’t much room at all for baffles, I had to cut mine up and reduce the depth and it’s still hitting the support for the window cables. I’ll just go without it and if they eventually get water damage I’ll just take it as an opportunity to upgrade the speakers. Thanks for the input much appreciated!

That's not bad for everything you listed. Any pics of the sub enclosure?

Oh, also assuming you got these, I'm a little curious why crutchfield lists them as not fitting and what your shop may have done to get them in. https://www.crutchfield.com/p_500SS65C/Alpine-S-S65C.html
Here is how they installed the speakers which crutchfield lists as not fitting the maverick. Looks like they cut up the stock speaker and used the old speaker as the mounting bracket for the new ones 😳. Not sure how I feel about that but I guess if it works it works. Clearance to the speaker grille is good, the rings on the door panel just barely clear the speaker

Pretty normal thing to do for a shop. The cut plug is ugly but of course isn't visible or going to cause any issue.
