Greetings all. Like many of you I’m exasperated about the strong possibility my ordered ‘23 Maverick Lariat hybrid won’t get built. But with my current ride heading into the 9th inning, I have to be realistic. My Plan B is a Honda CRV Sport Touring or a Mazda CX-5. What’s yours?
I will just keep driving my 2010 Ranger. It has less than 70,000 original miles on it.

I'll go get my 500 bucks back from the dealer and tell them to call me when the 24s can be ordered, and I'll be first in line (again). Its already too late for the spring/summer(and probably fall) outdoor activities duty I wanted it for. If I have to keep commuting in my loaded Lincoln, I'm not going to be all that mad about it ;)

I won’t go through a second ordering process in 2024, rebate or not. Way too long to wait for a vehicle. I can milk our current vehicle (Prius) along until then, and take a hard look at Toyota if the hybrid Stout is indeed released as anticipated. I want to stick with a hybrid for fuel economy, but light towing and a small truck box would be great.
Yea, this is my thoughts as well. I am going to stick it out until I know for certain that I am not getting a Maverick. I will absolutely not go through the 2024 order process no matter what they do. I've been looking at the Ridgelines a lot lately and I'm half tempted to pull the trigger now. Just more money which sucks.

Continue to drive the Maverick that I bought last week (another customer's refused order).

I may or may not buy one of the Mavericks that I actually ordered. The one I bought is not exactly what I wanted, but I am getting over 30 mpg on my daily commute with AWD (that I didn't order) so I might decide to just keep it. But I also want CP360 which is not on the one I just bought.

If I hadn't found the one I bought, I would have continued to drive my Taurus with 257K miles and no AC until I decided what to do instead. And if the Taurus died, I would borrow my father-in-law's Town and Country which is setting unused most of the time.

If I had to buy something else right away, I would consider Bronco Sport, Escape, CX-5, RAV4, CRV and the likes. I wouldn't consider another truck until the true Maverick competitors are available. Santa Cruz and Ridgeline are ugly and too expensive.

Another Toyota. It will be my fourth. Not sure why I am leaving the BEST BUILT line of cars in the world for a Ford. I guess I just want to try something different. If I don't get a '23 . . . well fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me.
No '23, goodbye Ford.

No '23, forget it. Most likely try my luck with the Toyota small pickup whatever that thing is called.

Beautiful car. If that will be your first Volvo, let's talk. I just want to get you prepared for an adventure of thrills yet heartache.....
Owning a Volvo can be like a relationship with the sea........it is beautiful, powerful, and captivating........but never turn your back on it.

While I really wanted my maverick to be built and hopefully delivered by May, since my daughter will be taking our old 2006 Mercury Mariner (ford escape), My wife and decided to go with a minivan so that my son could have some legroom, my son is 6'3" tall at 14 and doesn't show signs of stopping, we also decided on a minivan because we have a couple of across country trips planned and love how the minivan travels!

I bought a 2019 Dodge Grand Caravan GT in Silver and it has black leather interior and had has heated front seats and heated steering wheel!!

In the 3 weeks I have owned the minivan, I have already installed a dashcam, LED low beam, LED high beam, LED foglights, and had the windows tinted to legal limit for MIssouri and had a windshield brow done!

My wife and I bought a new 1998 S70. It was a little tank - solid, hugely comfortable, not greatly powerful but certainly able to get 'life' done. I loved that thing. Around 60k miles (4 years) things started to go horribly wrong with it; electrical, mechanical, you name it. By the time we threw in the towel at 70k miles it needed a complete ABS system, the central computer 'brain' for the car, and most AC components. We traded it in on a Toyota.

If you are mechanically minded, you can most likely handle a lot of the challenges that arose for us should they arise for you. I am not mechanical at all, so my check writing hand got sore.....
Things going haywire at 60-70K is not my idea of fun no matter how nice of a car the Volvo may be. That's a shame. Loved Hondas (notoriously good and long-lived runners) until my last one, then jumped to Ford. Hoping the Maverick lasts me a good long time. First Ford, first truck.

Short term - keep driving my assortment of old cars between my wife and I - 2011 Routan with 140,000 miles that my wife drives. I split time between a 2000 Accord and a 2002 Grand Marquis. My idea was the Maverick would replace both the Routan and the Accord, as the Accord has an engine that is not long for this world.

I won't reorder for 2024 - I literally ordered my 2023 on the day the bank opened, so not playing Ford's game again for 2024.

If no 2023 Maverick, looking at a Toyota Corolla hybrid, and forget about replacing the minivan.

Since I originally ordered my Maverick XL Hybrid I have....

Bought a 2022 Honda CRV Hybrid, 2022 Ford Bronco, 2022 Tesla Model 3.

Ordered a 2023 Maverick, 2023 Chevy Colorado, and this coming Monday I'll be ordering a 2023 Bronco Black Diamond.

I think I'm going to end up with the Bronco if that lotto ticket gets pulled.

Probably just keep driving my son's 2018 Elantra for now. He has an old Miata he is daily driving now, so the Elantra just sits unused.

I was considering a Bronco Sport as an alternative to the Maverick, but the latest recall on the 1.5L EB has turned me off. (The plastic components in the fuel injectors can crack, allowing gas to leak out and pose a fire risk. Ford's "solution" is to install a hose that would channel any leaking gas away from the engine and onto the ground. This is really a terrible response to that issue, IMO.

I kind of like what I'm seeing with the new Dodge Hornet CUV, which is built on Alfa Romeo Tonale underpinnings. Looks good, 268hp and standard AWD with an Alfa tuned chassis and suspension? Yes, please!
