First time in snow.
-3c with about 10-12cm of typical west coast wet, sticky, sloppy snow & a little bit of ice under the snow.
Unplowed hard pack dirt road about 1km in length (my "driveway") on 10-15% grade hill in spots.
Slippery mode on.

Absolutely zero drama.
I don't think I felt any wheel spin on the steepest part.
This could be the end of laying in wet snow, cinching up chains.....Thanks Ford, sorry Canadian Tire.

This February snow fall on the coast of BC has been a little nasty, the layer of ice under the snow made it hard to get off stuff. Glad you are doing great out on the coastal islands. The green looks awesome.

I have to say I was happy with how my 24 FWD did today. I am across the water in the Lower Mainland, and I have not had any issues over the last couple of days. I have the Continentals, and they have been doing fine so far. I do have a set of chains in the truck just in case, but I hope to never have to use them.

I couldn't imagine driving on the stock tires in winter. I took mine off in 2022 because the first time there was the slightest bit of frost on the road they nearly sent me into the ditch (only 5000km on them at the time). With the way the roads are in the lower mainland there is no way I'd be using them.

I thought about getting a set of snow tires, but I only have to get through this winter and I will be retiring. Once retired I will have more flexibility to just stay home if I wish. It has been such a mild winter that I just kept putting it off. With all of the driving I have done over the years, most of which were done with 2WD vehicles (FWD and RWD), I have never been so stuck that I could not get myself moving again on my own.

Indeed our mild winters are why I don't use winter tires, I switched to all weather tires from all seaons. The all weathers are good enough for all but a blizzard, but not as noisy as winter tires, but I am still young (40ish) so I don't want to take the risk of not being able to get to work.

You are not used to that much snow. My daughter in law lives in Victoria and says they had lots of snow. You live in a beautiful area tho during spring, summer and fall

Nice. I know my AWD Hybrid Lariat won't make it to my property in Western, NC when it is snowing unless I get some studded tires (which I won't be doing from Ohio). It will be a challenge to do it with some ATs.

I do miss my Tremor for the few times a year I would be accessing it.

I totally agree! I have a set of X-Ice in my garage without TPMS. I was going to wait until I can turn off the TPMS on forscaen before installing them. I'm in less of a rush now, because of the stock 19" tires. -26C here with lots of snow.

I am also impressed with my rig on ice. I used the stock tires the first winter because finances and tires were newish.

But i bought an off grid property in the summer... its not a long driveway but has a steep slope when i meet the highway that i have to stop on due to it being near a blind hill. So i bought nokian studded tires and ive never driven that confidently on ice before in my life. Sure beats my old silverado.

Similarly we have very slippery conditions in Calgary due to extreme cold temperatures(-30) last night . This is the first opportunity to truly test the maverick in winter conditions. Very slippery intersections. My 2025 lariat AWD hybrid performed brilliantly. I used the slippery mode and i have 19 inch winter tires Michelin X-Ice snow. Temperature outside was -22. ABS on brakes work really good. The remote start also worked as expected. Glad i have heated seats, steering, and mirrors. All in all very impressed with the performance. The truck had no issue on 8 inches of packed and loose snow. Unfortunately drivers in Calgary do not drive to the conditions. I usually do not drive when the road conditions are this bad, but i had a commitment that i could not get out off.
The only thing i find is that the side windows seem to fog up in the cold weather. The Max vent works very well and it clears the fog on the windows very quick.

I love my new truck. No regrets.
