Does anyone know the size of the hole that this rubber grommet is stuck into in the pic?

Thinking about the possibility of putting something like one of these boat LED lights in there…

0.75”

Sorry, I went out to measure however mine is covered by my bed rail.

I can tell you that the oval, plugged hole beneath it is .932” long by .708” high. LOL

Good luck

.

I think there is a round one towards the front of the bed that should be the same size that looks like it might not be covered up..

The forward holes on mine are .678". My bed is factory lined and there is over spray in the actual hole, so with it removed the hole would be marginally larger. If the barrel of the light above is .73" you may need to very slightly open the bed holes with a file or dremmel....

Good luck...

thanks. I’ll have to measure it once I get the light to see how big it really is. My Maverick doesn’t have any bed liner, so I’ll just have to see.

hopefully the rubber around the light is close enough that I can just trim it down a a couple of hundredths if need be.

the actual light itself, looks like it has a chance to be small enough without the rubber since it is thinner than 0.73.

If I have to start drilling the hole open on the bed, I would switch over to a different light, mounting location, or something before that.

I got them in the mail today. I tested one out in on my current truck’s battery….hard to tell if one will be bright enough under a tonneau cover or if I would need 2 (or more). I’m going to try one later when it gets dark to see for sure.

looking at it, I’m pretty sure I can get it to fit. The clear plastic is only 0.60 to 0.61”in diameter. The rubber insert that goes around the light is 0.73 at it thinnest. Worst case, I could trim it down a little and make it fit.
The light fit perfectly in the round holes on my Chevy 1500’s bed. Hopefully they are some industry standard.

I also got in a push button switch with a built in LED (went with yellow). I’m currently planning on installing it on the small access plate that covers up the 12v wires in the bed.

I tried the light at night on my battery. It lights up the engine bay fairly nicely, not quite “work light” bright, but bright enough to see things. So I think one will light in the bed under a tonneau cover will work well enough to start.…
