Roll-n-lock tonneau cover for hybird

I just talked to Roll-n-lock and was told that power tonneau covers ar we not approved for the maverick Hybird and that installing one would void the ford warranty. Doesn't sound reasonable to me. If you can put one on the gas maverick and tie into the 12v battery under the hood, I see no difference taking power from the battery under the back seat. Can any of you see why this would void the hybird warranty. I think he was thinking that power for the cover was coming from the high voltage battery. Thoughts please.
