They wear the paint off, right down to the sheet metal. That's it.

All four fenders look like this on my truck. Some better, some worse. Only had them on for maybe 5k miles.

I usually put 3m film on that spot before installing mud guards,.. but on the other hand, it is not normal… i hope they will fix it under warranty.

Well great….
I have OEM guards on a white truck. Probably only a couple hundred miles on them so far.
ironically, I bough them to keep the truck cleanerAND protect the paint.

Sorry about that. Did you install or did dealer?

What is the 3M film. And where should I put it before installing? Is this something I can get locally? Thanks!

I didn't think to put any PPF on that area because it was so small. I don't think I'm going to bother raising a warranty issue... I hate non-OEM paint jobs, especially for such a small area. Might just get some touch up paint and call it a day.

I just bought a role of this 3M protection film for this issue:

Don't have my truck yet so haven't used it yet.
FYI, I got this PPF but it is absolute garbage. It was cut from a larger role to get the 1 inch I ordered leaving it with jagged edges that don't leave a clean line.
