Hello All,
I asked the dealer if they offer ceramic coating for the Maverick. They told me they use polysilazane which is a ceramic resin coating. It comes with a lifetime warranty for $998 which includes the interior protection as well, also with lifetime warranty. What are your thoughts on the polysilazane coating compared to the ceramic? Is it the same, or better and what about the lifetime warranty?

Thanks,
Mary

I would go to an auto detailer directly before letting a dealer do something like that to the exterior of my truck. Odds are they farm that type of thing out to someone else and just mark up the price.

And most interior "protection" offers from dealers are nothing but bullshit.

Same for window tint. Deal with a tint shop directly.

I have it or something like it from the dealer, on my 22, I'm not as anal as several people on this thread so the most my truck gets is dusted with a California Car Duster, rinsed off in a rain shower, I try to wash it quarterly some NuFinish once a year, still looks good most days.

I was told a similar opportunity by the dealer with a mysterious ceramic coating that worked at the sub-atomic level of the paint and I’d never have to wash the truck for its lifetime. I almost had to leave the office to laugh out loud.

Shop around local auto detailers to price ceramic coatings. Look up reviews for them as well. There is a lot of scammy ceramic related stuff. $1k seems to be a lot for that kind of service.

Good idea. Not sure how you get a lifetime warranty on something that wears off over time... Do they re-detail the whole truck and reapply the miracle coating every few years?
