On the escape it’s about +$7K for the PHEV, I’d guess around there.

Was just about to say this. I just read another article on this earlier today, it starts at $39,995 but most of the "well equipped" PHEV versions will be $45k+.

A PHEV competitor to the Maverick for <$30k just isn't happening.

Yep never again. But if it was free, and a dedicated tow truck was behind me for every mile, and a Limousine stocked with cold beer and fresh chicken nuggets ( the better kind not McD or B.K. Junk ) was behind the tow truck to take me the rest of the way, then ok I would have one.

Shoot, we could arrange all that.. except that chicken nuggets would have to be McDonald's. Oh well, you don't want that package, so someone else will take it I'm sure.
