Ya... I work 5 days a week.
If I don't go anywhere in the Mav on the weekends, I commute 6 weeks on a tankful.

But not every time. Because I do truck stuff some weekends. And tow sometimes.
My commute is 34 miles RT, M-F, I have weekend errands and trips to the lakes at times, I average 3 weeks per tank.

High MPG is more about how much AC you are using... If you have temp set at LO, that means the AC is running all the time, which means the ICE is running more, which means low MPG. Also stay off the highway, I Have gotten 800 miles to a tank, it's very doable, but now 900 miles a tank, is not. I wish the Hybrid had the same tank size as the EB, then 900 miles would be doable.
I heard The escape had a bigger battery, wonder if that would help us, & why would ford use a bigger battery on the escape

False, the Escape Hybrid uses the same 1.1 kwh battery, and the Plug-in gets a 14.1 kwh.
The Maverick is a very efficient truck, the only way to hit 900 miles is a larger tank. as I wrote, I would love to see someone use the EB tank in a hybrid, that would be one mod I would be interested in doing.

A bigger tank sounds tempting.
My gas would probably get stale tho most of the time. 😉

Has anyone climbed under their hybrid to see if there's room for the larger fuel tank?
I don't have my Maverick yet or I would.

The point of the 800 mile club to to go farther with less. Not go farther with more.

Let's leave larger tanks to the big rigs.

By the time I hit 600 miles, I'm already overdue for a windshield squeegee, trash dump and oil level check. Definitely gas too. No way I'm making it to 800 miles, that's crazy talk...

801 MI with 25 miles to empty and I work out of my truck. Split shelf in the bed for stock and tools. Along with storage bins in back seat. I believe gentle rolling hills is the key. Never beeped at , eco mode only on highway.

Now that is impressive! Loaded down with stock and tools too. What kind of weight are you talking about?

Electrician I have five or six 18 volt tools with batteries 12 volt also , wire, drill bits, hole saws the 4-ft ladder that fits like a glove 😁 I would guess around 700 - 800 lb in a given day

It pretty obvious that that must be an optimal weight for your driving conditions and it's added inertia is aiding regeneration.

So I hit over 800 miles on one tank for the 1st time, and probably the last time unless I have a backup fuel tank with me.

812.2.jpg

I hit the "0 Mi to E" at 745 miles. From this point I set my Trip 2 to record the mileage after the gauge said I hit 0.

0 Miles to E.jpg

I usually fill up when I hit or are close to the system's estimate of zero miles left. In those cases my fill up would be anywhere between 13.7-14.1 gallons. After seeing a post of someone filling up to 16 gal I thought I would push my luck. I did have a 1 gal back up gas container after I hit zero, but will not plan to do this often. Unless you usually have a rack with backup fuel container just fill up. Not worth pushing it especially since you dont know what driving style you will use for those las 2-2.5 gallons. I made it to 67 miles past 0 so I assumed that I was at bout 15 gal used. I did my usual three clicks at the pump and I assumed wrong.

Trip 2 Data.jpg

I used 14.8 gal witch came out to 54.8 MPG on this tank (best ever was 55.7 mpg). I did take the freeways more than I thought I would and I also did a long drive from San Jose to Manteca during rush hour with an accident, about 60 miles one-way 120 roundtrip. On the way back I was not in traffic, so if someone in the central valley has a Maverick and they drive both ways on HY 680 and HY 580 what kind of MPGs and MPT are you getting?

Fill-up Pump.jpg

If the tank does actually hold 16.5 gal as on post suggested, the it could be possible to hit 900 miles on one tank, but I wont be trying that anytime soon. I might but not unless the conditions are right and I have time to get out on the side of the road with a filled backup tank.
Well nice to see someone do that but being as I am a 1/2 tank is flat ass empty kind of person it won't ever be me. lol
