Opened back door today and looking down, I saw this crack. Not sure how it happened. It has been cold and I'm have not had anyone in the back for awhile. Next question covered under warranty? looks like a scratch in photo but it is a break

This looks like a high traffic area. The brand I work for would not cover that being physically broken like that. But they are stickier than a lot of other brands. Hopefully the dealer can get it taken care of for you. And yes, that definitely looks like a break vs just being scratched LOL

Who's up for an impromptu Northern Maine Maverick Meetup? We can get to the bottom of this mystery while testing out the snow performance of the Maverick. I am still not convinced he didn't cut a dollar or photoshop it trying to scam Ford for some of that sweet sweet plastic. What's the best place to meet? Preferably a big parking lot for some epic snownuts.

I would warranty this...one time as a dealer. Ford might have other warranty claims....and too many will point to needing some engineering inquest to see if that needs improved.

Thank you! It is not a scratch, yeah not holding my breath, will swing it by to see if it can be covered, got nothing to lose and carbon fibre tape to make a door sill if they don't

I'd leave it alone until it stops spitting out dollar bills.

See if the dealer will cover it under warranty. If not, just buy a new piece and replace it. You’ve already spent enough time on this issue

That's not the Maine way, I will bush fix it with carbon fibre tape to look like a door sill! just got some 3" tape in yesterday. Waiting for it to be a bit warmer before I fix it

I think the OP means that he's going to apply carbon fiber tape on all that door sill trim and this area. it could look good.
