Only 675 miles! Already in the shop

Picked up my CG Lariat Lux 360 + assist BAP 2 weeks ago to the day! Waited a long time for this truck and 675 miles later it’s in the shop…averaging 47 MPG …Driving to work today something flew up from the road couldn’t avoid it while on I95. Heard a bang but everything seemed ok ( wasn’t bad enough to pull off).. When I get to work I find fluid leaking out of the truck…. Anyone have a guess how much this job will cost? Already called insurance but worried about part availability and if they will keep my truck because of recall.

From what I can see is damaged. (Hybrid battery radiator and the vanes for the active grill shudders). Ford shows both parts readily available.

Yep, and unless the deductible is that high, probably worth it. It may count as a comprehensive claim, so make sure you're covered for that. Those tend to not count against you as much as collision claims. What it falls under will be determined by the insurance adjuster based on the exact sequence of events. Sometimes they'll consider an object or animal that is moving as a comprehensive claim while considering hitting an unmoving/dead animal/object as a collision claim.

Was thinking about that off road vulnerability in my future Tremor, for behind the shutters. And also mouse guards for the behind the seat air flap and cabin air filter.

Originally bought for a pellet tray for my smokeless fire pit with plenty left over for a couple roasting trays, quality stuff. 100% 1/4" welded mesh.

This was never a concern of mine until now. And my other car is a lowered civic with large intercooler hahaha. Wonder if that mesh would have saved the radiator or just punched through. Looks like someone stabbed it with screwdriver
