Thanks. Do you know if the area around the cutout has pre drilled holes for the cubby door if you were to install it later on?
Everything is ready to go

Can you verify that there is no issue with the driver's side install and the exhaust being close to the bottom? Just don't want any melting or anything.

Is the driver's side one exposed and the passenger side one is enclosed/protected from underneath?

I want to put jumper cables on one side and some tools on the other side.
there Is no issues at all with the exhaust not sure how that rumor got started, here’s a pic

Prepare to get a cancellation notice (and if you don’t, well you lucky dawg)
Yeah they cancelled the order - backordered. Oh well, ordered through the local dealer, he said maybe mid-February.

Wasn't trying to start a rumor. When I was under my truck I noticed there wasn't a shield on the driver side like there was on the passenger side. I was just eyeballing that the cubby could be near the exhaust that's all.

Since this is exposed to all sorts of onlookers, you might want to use a stainless steel tamper resistant bolt. McMaster-Carr offers them in the correct size (M6x1.00x25mm) for $6.27 plus shipping for a pack of 10. You just need to get the correct bit (center pin Torx for an M6 screw). It won't totally stop a dedicated thief but it will prevent the casual one..

I order the cubby for the bed last month, and it’s finally here I will install it later but here’s some pics and part # not bad for 45 buck.

Update:

Well I finally got the bed cubby in for my lx, but it will work for any of the maverick left or right side same part #, is a 20 min job if you can turn a bolt that’s all the skill level you need lol. The cubby came completely assembled with all the parts needed except for bolts you will need 2 extra bolts if you intend to used the existing ones. Directions unbolt cover bolt cubby :)

This looks like a great place to stash some tie down straps and bungee cords. Thanks for the post!

Anyone know if the blank panel you pull for installation is still there and removable with factory spray in bed liner.

To be done properly, it should be removed before the bed is sprayed, then put back on. The same with the tie downs. My understanding is that is why the gas tanks got drilled into when they used wire brushes to clean the threads for the bolt holes after spraying the bed liner.
