Some folks on the forum who use the bed heavily just add a bed mat atop the spray liner. Yea, overkill, but it makes sense if scratches bother an owner.

Maybe down the road Ford will follow the higher quality manufacturers and offer a composite bed. Steel beds are cheap to manufacture but badly outdated.

I'm going order one of these. Trucks being built now. Someone else posted the pic.

I had one of these in my F-150 I owned for 22 years. Even though it sat outside, it never rusted underneath the mat. Easy to pull out and wash out the bed, then replace.
I put one in my Maverick, too.

You can use Ford points to order one from Chapman Ford: https://fordpartsdepo.com

I have had trucks with decades old SIBL, they scratch and chip all the time. If you care. touch em up. It will cost our $9 and use the rest of the can for lil projects.

I had Line-X premium done on my Maverick right after I bought it.
Almost $200 cheaper than Ford wanted for their spray in liner.
I added a 3/8" thick rubber bedmat from Rough Country, quite inexpensive extra protection.

SIBL - factory versus after market: The photos are taken from the side of the bed and show the area below the rear window. My 2024 has factory SIBL. Notice they did not spray the area and left it white. WTF? The other photo is my 2022 with LineX aftermarket SIBL sprayed like it should be up under the window.

I prefer the Ford SIBL. Yep. Under rail is my preference.
As I was thinking of bed liner and it's functional purpose I'd be happy with lining only on the floor.
