Not completely happy with dealer installed hard trifold tonneau

Anyone that had a dealer installed hard trifold tonneau, please check. I would like to compare.
The rails in my opinion were cut about half inch too short on both sides so it's not as water tight as it should be. There's a big gap. I would like to bring it back and complain about it.

Is there any room to slide the cover back some from the front of the bed and still have an over lap there?

Yea. That sucks. Complain. Are these dealer-installed even if it on your original order ?

I would not have a dealer do this add on. This is not their expertise at all. Take it to a shop that does this for a living. Probably get a better price and a better selection of tops.

On all the videos I have seen of tonneau covers installed, none of the rails had to be cut. Here is a picture of my rails. I have a rollup from the factory and it leaks.

Most truck beds will never be waterproof, but it looks like that should not have been cut.

I see your rail butts up against the tail gate and it still leaks? Not good

I have a 19 Ranger with the Ford trifold. It leaks a little bit. I am waiting on my Mav and ordered the same cover. They should not cut the rails to install it. I worked at two different Ford dealerships and they come precut. It definitely keeps snow and ice out of the bed and that is my goal.

My f150 has a leer trifold that has to be closed before the tailgate because it goes over the end to seal it. It leaks at one of the seems. I had a hard roll back tonneau on my old ranger. It leaked and was loud at speed.

I’ve never experienced a single tonneau that didn’t leak except for my undercover tonneau which was a hard one piece and I hated that thing after a couple years. There’s always going to be a trade off I guess.

I don't know if they made a cut on site or if it came precut. Either way, it could be a half an inch longer in my opinion.

I thought about that but my concern is it might start leaking at the other end where it isn't. Right now it's just leaking on both sides of the tail gate. I will look when schedule and weather permits.
