Anyone experiencing an occasional "clunking" noise from the front end after installing Rough Countries' 1" front leveling kit?

Sounds like something wasn't torqued right. I would make sure there are not any loose parts.

Thanks...I mean no offense, but I have been building cars for over 50 years and have owned over 70 cars/trucks, I do how to tighten bolts. But again I do appreciate you taking the time to post.

I would appreciate posts from individuals that have actually installed the leveling kit, Thanks

I got my 2” lift kit installed couple weeks ago. Visited a shop to get an exhaust done. Same shop who installed my lift kit. When the truck came back down from the lift, drove it out, I heard some clunky noise coming from the passenger front, sounded like a loose bolt. The mechanic drove it and found out that one of the top hat bolts came loose after hoisting the truck up. Apparently, Rough Country suggested that we have to re torque after 3,000 miles I think. But never driven 3,000 miles after installing the Lift kit. But after re torquing everything, the noise went away.

I had the same thing where a bolt had come loose after about 1000 miles after my lift install

Thanks guys for the replies...maybe I don't know how to torque after all  Strange though I don't think I have put more than 100 miles on mine since install. Perhaps just setting it down off stands have caused the issue. I will retorque! I am presume we are talking about the upper top hat bolts not the inner ones?

It’s annoying even to my well seasoned mechanic. Imagine every time you lift your truck on the hoist and bring it down, that you have to retorque every time, that would be annoying. My mechanic didn’t specify if it’s the outer bolts or the inner bolts of the top hats. But doesn’t hurt to check both
But you can't get to the lower bolts with struts in place :-(

Lol. You’re expert at it
Ok then tightened all bolts nope didn't fix it. So maybe I do know what I'm doing (as far a tight bolts is concerned). Next step check sway bar frame bushings to see if they are binding the sway bar. With the 1" spacers the sway bar is now orientated slightly different. Not sure???? Don't like the noise though. May have to resort to removing spacers to see if that makes a difference. Then yes I will be the "expert"

As I recall, that kit required some grinding to the strut edge in order to fit properly (#14 on the instructions).
