If you don't get the knobs with the display you can always search on eBay for one or buy one directly from Ford. The same control is used on the Bronco Sport and Escape. Several guys in the Bronco Sport forum have done this and it does work, I've kind of proved that with my Maverick.
I saw those on ebay too. I was curious about doing a single zone to dual zone swap on my XLT Lux. Do you know if that would be a simple hardware swap or would programing/extra equipment be needed?

My guess is it would require other parts and probably not a simple swap.

One thing I did want to point out that some folks might be confused about is even though you don't have the display on the dial you still use the dial to control the temp, you just look up at the display to see the temp change. You don't have to change it on the climate tab in the center display if you don't want to.

So, as you set the desired temperature, it takes only a second to look up at the screen above to see what you are dialing. As I recall if I am traveling at 60mph, I will have gone 88feet while looking to set my temp. Stuff happens, sometimes in the blink of an eye or even in a second!

It will take longer to get the temp I desire and takes my attention off the road longer.

My Temp is either all the way up or all the way down, couldn't care less. If this is the only thing they are skipping, than you are lucky. Mercedes is now delivering their mini suv's without electric seat adjustment, which is far more annoying than this.

And many Chevy vehicles now without a heated seat option -

The only photos in this thread are clearly edited - and poorly, at that. Can someone post a picture of what it actually looks like?

I don't like this, personally.

This is why I liked my old car, which had buttons on the steering wheel to change the temperature. No looking down required.

So no one has ever looked away for a few seconds to oh I don't know flick a cigarette, adjust a radio dial, move a vent, scold a unruly child in the back seat, drank coffee, had a snack, kissed their partner/wife/husband, etc etc

You don't really need to look down, you know.

Too cold, turn it a couple clicks clockwise. Too hot, do the reverse.

You're welcome.

I have auto climate control in my current car, but this is still how I do it. (By feel, not numbers. And I'm a[n old] millennial.)

I like having the display, and am glad that my XLT has it. If it didn't I would have swapped out for one with the display. I like being able to set an exact temperature, and the display makes it a no-brainer to remember the numbers and return to the exact numerical settings for either hot or cold.
